Paul’s Story – Rehoming, Receiving and Paying It Forward with BHRR

Since I joined BHRR, wow, what a ride it’s been! In that time, I’ve managed to rehome a bunch of useful items, giving a second chance at life before they hit landfill. Honestly, some of these things are in such good shape they’ll probably outlive me and end up with their next owner after I’m done.
Thanks to this group, my home is now fully kitted out with goodies like an oven, a stand mixer, shelves and CD-reader. My camper is living its best life with new knives, washing bags and an esky (because who doesn’t need portable chill vibes?) And let’s not forget the random stuff I’ve scored for my “art projects” - music scores and old electric insulators. These eclectic items will soon star in creations that my family will probably squint at and say, “What is it supposed to be?”
Oh, and shoutout to Sharmaine who rehomed the grass! My bald patch (on the lawn, people, the lawn) is finally covered.
Special thanks to Peter aka the MVP of my recent In Search Of post who hooked me up with a vice. I showed up and left with not only the vice but also a bench drill, router and enough tools to make my workshop feel like a Bunnings warehouse. Peter, you’re a legend.

In return, I’ve started paying it forward by rehoming items from my own stash. (Sorry family, no, we don’t need four editions of Monopoly).
Huge thanks to the admins for making this group a thing. You’ve created a space where people can share, connect, and occasionally battle for a good esky.
